Skiing and
winter sports in Livigno
To appreciate the real evolvement of Livigno from a long,
basically ugly town with skiing on both sides to the ski
resort it is today requires that you make a visit to this
Italian resort. The skiing is mainly divided into two
sides, the Italian and the Swiss. Both are in Italy mind
but one side is closer to Switzerland than the other.
As the highest livable resort in Europe, Livigno often has
snow when lower resorts do not; this too accounts in no
small part for its attraction. Almost guaranteed snow is a
big pull. The skiing on both sides of the valley is best
suited to those of beginner and intermediate talents with
little on tap for the real expert. Never mind; as a fun,
duty free resort Livigno makes no apologies for any lack
in top-flight skiing possibilities. With more than 30
lifts on both sides of the mountain and scores of ski pass
sales points you will never be too far away from either a
ski area or a place to buy your ticket. You might also
like to know that each of Livigno’s ski areas (6 in all).
Has its own website and most have their own ski school, so
think carefully before you commit your holiday to any
particular one. |
